PRODUCT… IS 10
We hold SOPHIE and this music very close to our hearts, both musically and emotionally. It’s not an album – it’s a singles collection, for those who know – but it’s also so much more than a musical project. It changed our world, and without being shy it’s fair to say it changed the rest of the world too. We have countless memories together from 2012 to beyond, and we aim to share some of those soon through other mediums. SOPHIE’s genius was at the core – there are many talented people she played with too and this was FUN. This edition was created in close collaboration and consultation with SOPHIE’s friends and family, and reflects back to everything discussed at the time. We miss her beyond words, but know she would want you to shake it up and make it fizz. — Numbers.

Jaide Green, the vocalist on OOH recalls
“Sophie got in touch after seeing me on The X Factor. The first track we recorded was OOH, and the second was NOTHING MORE TO SAY. OOH stood out to me, it was fun, playful, and creative. It was clear the lyrics were very significant to Sophie, however it didn’t feel like your usual heartbreak song, it was uptempo and happy. Even still, there was a strength behind the words. I thought it was a perfect fit, pure genius.”

Cassie Davis and Sean Mullins, who worked with SOPHIE on the song recall
“I remember being really impacted by the way Sophie had what I can only describe as a concern for how the song would make people feel, it seemed so important that people who might be feeling alone or maybe misunderstood would hear this and know that they were in-fact not alone in what they were going through, that the song should bring some comfort and uplift in its own way.” — Cassie Davis
“She had this unapologetic ferocity for being true to who she was, that was infectious. I remember dancing around in the studio, vibing to the energy of creation in a way that I had never experienced before, devoid of ego.” — Sean Mullins

Nabihah Iqbal, SOPHIE’s friend and collaborator on LEMONADE and L.O.V.E. says
“At the time, not me or anyone else would have really thought that in more than 10 years’ time, we’d be looking back on those kind of memories and thinking about the absolute extreme legacy that Sophie left us. In the context of her not even being here anymore the way I look back at those memories is quite different, but in the moment, it was just fun.
I loved spending time with her. We always used to hang out really late at night, and I’m pretty sure the Lemonade vocals probably got recorded at like 3 a.m. or something, because we were both very nocturnal. And we lived close to each other, so we’d just call each other up and be like, “You free? Come to the studio,” or “Come around to my house,” or “Let’s go for a drive.” It was really like that. It was such a kind of blissful time of being like young in London and just having fun.” — Nabihah Iqbal
